B2B quick order lists & case packs
Set up company catalogues, volume prices and minimum order validation.
01Prepare native B2B access
Shopify B2B is available on Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus, with plan-specific limits. Plus supports unlimited catalogues and direct company-location catalogue assignment. Create company accounts, assign locations and payment terms, and attach the appropriate catalogue. The public Vitrine demo uses a trade switch only to illustrate the interface; it is not authentication.
- Create a test company and at least one company location.
- Assign an approved buyer and the correct catalogue.
- Confirm the logged-in buyer sees the intended prices and currencies.
- Keep restricted trade price data out of unauthorised storefront responses.
02Build a useful order matrix
Display a row for each orderable variant with a clear SKU, unit, availability, quantity input and line total. For long catalogues include search or a scoped collection. Keep quantity controls operable by keyboard and label each input with the variant name.
- Select the collection and relevant product template.
- Set the case pack and minimum order quantity in your catalogue quantity rules.
- Show volume price breaks next to the quantity controls.
- Recalculate the order total after every valid quantity change.
Illustrative case pack: 6 units
Minimum order: 6 units
12+ units: 10% volume reduction
24+ units: 20% volume reduction03Enforce rules beyond the interface
Front-end case-pack messaging helps buyers but cannot be your only validation. Enforce minimums and increments with the native B2B catalogue rules or an appropriate server-validated integration. Check the cart response for rejected quantities and explain corrections without losing the buyer’s other selections.
- Test quantities 0, 1, 5, 6, 12 and a value above available stock.
- Confirm volume tiers apply to the intended variant, product or combined order basis.
- Verify prices, tax presentation, payment terms and shipping per company location.
- Handle partial stock and unavailable variants explicitly.
04Attach technical specifications
Store supplier-approved CAD drawings, dimensional sheets and safety data in Shopify Files or a controlled content system. Connect file-reference metafields to the product specification tabs. Show the file type, revision and size. Only label a file MSDS or SDS when it is an authentic and current safety sheet; a furniture care note is not a substitute.
